The CX-5 is another all-new design. Equipped with Mazdas new Skyactiv fuel efficiency technology, it feel and drives like a more affordable Audi Q5, though it is lacking some of the more up-to-date tech gadgets for the drivers maximum connectivity with the world.

Mazdas have always been so much fun to drive that buyers in the know often turn to them as better values than German luxury brands.

The CX-5 is the first Mazda vehicle to bring the companys new Kodo design language to production, and youll want to get used to this new corporate face – itll quickly spread throughout the entire lineup. The swoopy-smiley Nagare design has been ditched in favor of "Soul in Motion" styling that incorporates a more aggressive trapezoidal black grille with subtle wings that extend into the wraparound headlamp clusters.

The powerplant in the CX-5 is the Skyactiv-G gasoline engine, and is mated to the buyers choice of a pair of new Skyactiv-branded transmissions – a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic – and the whole package is wrapped in a lightweight Skyactiv chassis
