Introduction to Formula 1 car


Nostalgia is certainly when we tend to recall the good times of the past. Formula 1 indian grand prix  2012 comes with so much speculation, glamour, technology and millions rupees spent on. f1 is believed to be the costliest sport in the world.we witnessed 2011 f1 indian grand prix,the sixth tilke-designed track in formula 1,received unanimous praise from drivers and people of india where cricket is followed as a religion. however, scenario has quite changed a little bit.
Let’s understand some in and outs of formula 1. The car used in breath-taking like race in which a person can sit and drive. hence just because of this is called formula 1.
Every grand prize carrying tournament in france is popularly known as grand prix. be it car racing, bike racing, snooker, chess, swimming and skatting.
Like ICC in cricket, FIFA in football federation of international automobile (FIA) is the top institute in racing from rules & regulations to schedule are managed by FIA. The association internationale des automobile clubs reconnus (AIACR) was established earlier in 1904 in paris. It got renamed to current FIA in 1922.total 222 countries are the members of FIA. jean todt  is the president of FIA. Bernie Ecclestone is the CEO of formula 1 management. he played a significant role to bring the grand prix in india. popularly known as “f1 supremo “ecclestone will celebreate his 82th birthday on oct 28,2012 in india
After 1910 there used to organize random car racing competition. there were no certain rules to follow. The commission supportive international suggested to start single seater car racing championship in 1946.this race was earlier known as formula-a .later on it got famous by the formula1 name. the very first race was organized in turian grand prix in 1946 italian became the champion.
Seeing popularity of motorcycles world championship in 1950,FIA decided to start F1 world championship. world championship title is given to the particular team which earns the maximum points at the end of the season. total 7 race were organized in which total 14 team participated with great enthusiasm. The italian Giuseppe farina won 4 races from 7 races making championship to his name. this race was organized in European countries till 1953.argentina became the first non-european country to host this race in 1953.Asia’s first formula 1 race was hosted by japan in 1976.FIA made a rule that all the participating countries to host formula 1 race in their countries once in a year. In order to follow the rule, we have organized formula 1 race second time in india. Because Vijay Mallaya’s racing team force india has been participating for five years.sahara group recently bought some shares of force india. force india is known as sahara force india.
Every formula 1 race is divided in three stages. moreover, dates and  days are not changed. A Friday takes practice session. the purpose of the practice session is to check out engines and tracks of the circuit. however, Monaco organizes practice  session on the Thursday.two sessions include morning and afternoon 10:00a.m to 11:30a.m and 2:00pm to 3:30pm respectively. the qualifying round takes place on Saturday at 2pm considering the qualifying performance, the positions of Sunday’s main race are determined to begin. this qualifying race is divided in 20,15 and 10 minutes. there’s a break time of 7 and 8 minutes between 1st&2nd and 2nd&3rd session respectively.24 cars run in 1st session. The top 7 slowest cars are eliminated for 2nd session. the top 7 slowest cars out of remaining 17 cars are eliminated. In the end, the rest of 10 driver cars get chance to drive in last session,who finishes the quickest lap gets to stand in podium position in Sunday main race.
Every team is given 30minutes to practice on track before the main race on Sunday. Every team car stand  according to qualifying position. The drivers commence the race when green light is lit up. the drivers could stop to refill the fuel tank till 2010. Now FIA cancelled this rule of filling fuel from this season. Formula 1 car gives an average of 2 km per litre.machine
The drivers are indicate by the no of flags. The chequered flag shows the winner of race, yellow flag is shown for the danger zone and no more overtaking takes place at that time, green flag is shown when that danger is settled, red flag is for suspension. The marshals are deployed on the track for the inspection of happenings and to remove  the wreckage in case of accidents. total 700 marshals are deployed in Indian grand prix. There is always safety car running on track to keep an eye and makes sure whether  formula 1 cars stick to predetermined speeds .Mercedes benz sls amg gullwing is currently safety car
The very first three driver get podium position. the national anthem of all the podium achievers are played and sung.every country telecastes the live action of formula 1.
